Alan (Kurly) McGeachie
- Birmingham Poet Laureate Finalist -
I deliver fun poetry workshops to help develop overall literacy confidence, empowering young people to access and attain success across the curriculum. Workshops support the priorities and strategies of schools' and academy trusts' curricular intent, contributing to a high quality education.
***Poetry experience NOT necessary***
Are all your pupils confident about their literacy ability and potential? Performance poetry workshops help build literacy confidence whilst reinforcing curricular knowledge (declarative and procedural) whilst developing transferrable skills. Face to face or online workshops available which can include: fun 1 hour year group assemblies, classroom tours, large en-masse whole school theme launch/Wow Days (working with whole primary Key Stages or secondary year groups.)
Some popular themes include: Anti-Bullying, Health and Wellbeing, British Values, Virtues, Visions, Leadership, Justice, Greeks, Romans, Rainforests, Diversity, World War, Identity, Black History, Transition, Success and more. Please click on 'Workshops' to learn more about school workshop delivery.
